The short version
1 · What we collect
Nothing, by default. You can install Jelly Player, import playlists and watch without creating an account. In that state your playlists, channel lists, favorites and reminders are stored only on your device, encrypted at rest, and are never uploaded to us.
If you sign in (optional, via Apple or Google), we store: an anonymous account ID, your playlist metadata needed for syncing (names, icons, encrypted playlist references), and your device list (up to 2 devices, identified by model name). Sign in with Apple lets you hide your email entirely.
If you add an email (optional), we use it only for purchase receipts, replies to your support tickets, and — if you opted in — occasional deal notifications. Every marketing email has a working unsubscribe link.
2 · What we never collect
- Your viewing history or what channels you watch.
- The URLs you stream from, or the contents of your playlists on our servers, unencrypted.
- Payment card details — all billing is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play; we only receive an anonymous confirmation that a purchase happened.
- Contacts, photos, location, microphone. The camera is used only while you scan a QR code and images never leave your device.
3 · Streams & playlist links
When you play a channel, your device connects directly to the server named in your playlist. That traffic never passes through our servers, and we don't log it. Without an account, your playlist links never leave your device. With sync on, encrypted playlist references are stored so your devices can share them — we use them for syncing and nothing else. What a playlist contains is between you and your provider; see our Terms.
4 · Support tickets
When you open a ticket we keep the ticket thread, any screenshots you attach, your app version and device model. This is used only to resolve your issue and is deleted 12 months after the ticket closes.
5 · Analytics & crash reports
We collect anonymous, aggregated events (app opened, import succeeded/failed, source switch happened) and crash reports to keep the app stable. These contain no playlist URLs, no channel names and no identifiers that link back to you. You can turn analytics off in Settings → Privacy.
6 · Service providers
A few third parties help run the app: Apple and Google (sign-in, billing and push delivery) and a crash-reporting and analytics service that receives only the anonymous events described above. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.
7 · Reminders & notifications
Match reminders are scheduled on your device. Push notifications for ticket replies and renewal reminders use an anonymous push token that we cannot map to your identity without your account.
8 · Data retention & deletion
Synced data lives as long as your account does. Delete your account in Settings → Account → Delete account: syncing data is removed immediately, support history within 30 days, and backups within 90 days. Local data disappears the moment you uninstall the app.
9 · Your rights
Depending on where you live (GDPR, CCPA and friends), you can request a copy of your data, correction, or deletion. Open a support ticket or email privacy@jellyplayer.app — we answer within 30 days.
10 · Children
Jelly Player is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11 · Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before the change takes effect — not bury it in a changelog.
